Smosh is a youtube channel known for producing sketch comedy series. Sketch comedy refers to short and amusing scenes performed by comic actors. Co-founded by best pals Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla. Anthony Padilla created the concept when he opened a website, smosh.com. Together with his best friend Hecox, Padilla started posting videos on Smosh’s Youtube channel. This started around 2005, essentially pulling in so many fans on the site. Smosh have had almost 10 billion views and more than 25 million subscribers in 2021.

Daniel Anthony Padilla is an American actor, writer, editor, digital content creator, comedian, director, producer, and Internet celebrity. He was born September 16th, 1987. Born in Sacramento, CA. He had stated that his birth was unplanned. His parents are Daniel and Leezah Padilla. He has three half-siblings, 2 half-brothers, and a half-sister.
Anthony’s Early Life
Anthony’s parents went their different ways when he was just 2 years old. Anthony went to Del Campo High School with his best friend, Ian Hecox. At Age 14, He lost his grandmother who was their major support. His mother had severe Agoraphobia (fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment). This meant that Anthony had to grow faster than usual in order to be able to support his family. This included his half-brothers from his mother’s relationship with her ex-boyfriend. Anthony alongside Ian both attended American River College in Sacramento. However, Anthony dropped out of college after 2 years.
Anthony’s Career
As a teenager, Anthony was diagnosed with HSP (Henoch-Schonlein Purpura). This meant he had to stay in bed for four months. However, he put into good use the time, learning how to code. He created smosh.com which was a chatting platform with his friends. And this is where it all began.

Anthony Padilla with his friend, Ian Hecox created a Youtube channel in 2005 called Smosh. In the sketch comedy series channel, Anthony had portrayed a smarter, obedient, and more mature personality than Ian. Anthony Padilla is known for flat-ironing his hair, which his fans termed ‘Emo Hair’. He did this from the beginning of the show till late 2013. In fact, his fans were left discontented when he decided to unveil his new hair for the first time in the show “The End of Christmas (Part 1)” which was released December, 2013. The first video made by Anthony and Ian was Power Rangers Theme Song, posted November 19, 2005. In the video, they were both dancing to the movie theme song in their bedroom. It gained about 12 million in views.

Anthony After Smosh
Having sold his rights to the channel to Defy Media, Anthony Padilla announced his split from the popular series on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. He did this via a video he posted on the same day entitled “Anthony is Leaving Smosh”. In a later video on his personal channel entitled “Why I left Smosh”, he had revealed that he believes that his creative decisions were to put “through a filter”. Prior to his announcement, Anthony had created another channel “Anthony Padilla 2” stating on the channel banner precisely his freedom to post whatever he wants.
After leaving Smosh, Anthony launched his Production House (Pressalike Inc.) and also made a 1hr documentary film titled “I Maid a Mistake”. He posts videos of his interviews spending a day with famous personalities, YouTubers, and Streamers. While he creates, directs, and writes these interview series, he has a team that helps with the shooting of his videos. So far, Anthony Padilla’s subscribers on his Youtube channel are at 5.83 million as of 20th October, 2021. His most recent video is an interview with a group of people known as Satanists titled “I spent a day with Satanists”. The video has already garnered almost 420 thousand views in 6 days.
Following Anthony’s departure, Smosh took a hit in followership and viewing. In just nine months, Smosh dropped fourteen places from the eighth most subscribed channel.

Anthony Padilla has been involved in various relationships. He once dated his former partner kalel Cullen, a famous Youtuber sometimes around 2010. The relationship lasted for about 4 years, with them going their separate ways in 2014. They had a youtube channel called WatchUsLiveAndStuff.
Anthony Padilla then got involved with another social media personality, Miel Bredouw (@mielmonster), a popular Instagram and Vine (American video hosting service) star for 3 and a half years. Padilla called it quits mid-2019.
Barely months later, Anthony Padilla on 10th September 2019 started dating his current girlfriend Lauren Mychal popularly known as Mykie (@mykie). Mykie is also a popular Instagram personality with a followership of about 2 million. On 14th February, 2021, Anthony had sent a sweet Valentine’s Day message to his heartthrob. The couple lives together.
