Who is Cardi B?

Cardi B, born Belcalis Almanzar on October 11, 1992, spent a lot of time with her grandmother in nearby Washington Heights in addition to growing up in The Bronx, New York. Her father is Dominican and her mother is Trinidadian, hence she has mixed Caribbean origin.

Cardi B acknowledged that the booze brand Bacardi is where she got her moniker. Since everyone used to refer to me as Bacardi because of my sister’s name, Hennessy, she explained, “I shortened it to Cardi B, and the ‘B’ stands for whatever… depending on the day.”

Are they allies or enemies? Have they been disparaging one another honestly? Is a partnership in the works? Here is what has transpired thus far between the female rappers.

A comment criticizing Cardi’s bars on a video of her rapping was purportedly liked by Nicki Minaj in March 2017. A follower took a screenshot of Nicki seemingly like a comment that read “stupid a** bars” after Cardi posted a one-minute freestyle on Instagram. This was probably a hoax, as many users pointed out.

A few weeks later, Nicki was seen dancing to “Bodak Yellow,” though. The rapper of “No Frauds” was spotted in a Miami nightclub nodding in agreement with Cardi B’s summer hit.

In the song “No Flag,” which also features Cardi’s boyfriend Offset, Nicki takes aim at a female artist. In the song, Minaj raps, “I heard these labels are trying to make another me / Everything you’re getting little hoe is because of me.” Many people thought that this was a Cardi insult.

Later, Nicki Minaj tweeted to explain that the phrase from “No Flag” was not directed toward Cardi. The rapper insisted that he had penned that particular lyric in earlier months.

In August 2017, while performing, Cardi shouted out at an unidentified woman. Cardi yelled on the MoMA PS1 stage, “You know this b***h she never f**king liked me, and all of a sudden she wants to be friends with me — no, b**ch,” Cardi declared on the MoMA PS1 stage. “I still don’t like you b***h.”

At the 2017 MTV VMAs, Cardi B spoke about the rumors of a feud.“I don’t want problems with anybody. I just want to make music and make money,” said Cardi. “I don’t have time to look at other women and what they’re doing. I don’t have to do that whole industry beef, you know? I get it poppin’ with these hands.”

During her verse on G Eazy’s “No Limit,” Cardi B is said to have fired a gunshot. “Can you stop with all the subs? B***h I ain’t Jared,” The rapper raps,  in a line that many assumed was directed towards Nicki.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper said that the two female rappers “conversed” during her appearance on The Breakfast Club. She elaborated:  “This is the thing—you know, people don’t understand, though, that I got like beef with 10 b*****s still in the hood, and I still be in the hood.”

Nicki and Taylor Swift supporters fought to prevent Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” from topping the charts. In an effort to block Cardi’s single, the fandoms started streaming Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” obsessively. While Nicki’s supporters supposedly felt frightened by the media’s portrayal of Cardi as “the next Nicki Minaj,” Taylor’s fans reportedly wanted their idol to be at number one.

Nicki congratulated Cardi right away when “Bodak Yellow” reached the top spot. “There is nothing more important than this! Having fun “She wrote. The rapstress tweeted, “This means sooo much coming from you,” and Cari replied, “Thank you!”

The song, which serves as Nicki and Cardi’s debut joint effort, was the first single to be taken from the next Migos album, “Culture II.” Though in different scenes, both people made an appearance in the official song video.

Cardi dispelled rumors that the two were actually shooting one other during the song “Motorsport.” Cardi mentioned in her interview with Capital XTRA that she and Nicki had a quick conversation and that the verse on the finished song was really different from the one Cardi had heard. She emphasized that she was prepared to take advantage of the chance to work with the stars when Quavo, a member of the Migos, approached her to join the song.

A few hours before her debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” was released, Cardi addressed the beef. “I just feel like it’s really internet made-up,” she said during an interview. “I don’t really have the time for that. If you not f*cking my man, or if you’re not taking my money from me, if you’re not stopping my money, then I don’t really give a f*ck about you.” She added “I spoke to her before, in person. So I always say I don’t want anybody sneak-dissing me. If it’s something that we can talk it out, then we can talk it out, because it’s not always rah-rah this or rah-rah that.”
