Early Life

Gandy had always wanted to be a veterinarian. Born on 19 February 1980 in Billericay, Essex, he grew to only fancy the idea. He went to college, studying multimedia computing, with his grades being too poor for his choice of study. As he studied, he further worked for Auto Express as one who delivers vehicles to be tested.

Gandy went on to study marketing at the University of Gloucestershire. It was during this period that a friend introduced him to modeling without him bargaining for it.

In 2001, unknown to Gandy, his flatmate filled up his details in a modeling contest on ITV’s This Morning. At 21, Gandy won this program hosted by Richard and July and got a contract with Select Model Management in London. He left the university soon after he obtained an honors degree to become a full-time model.

After this, he worked for several modeling companies. Some of the companies he worked with included Zara, Marks & Spencer, Grant USA, H&M, and others. In 2006, he became the official brand face of Dolce and Gabbana and worked with them yearly.
