His Early Life
Richard and Kathie Wright, Dominiick’s paternal grandparents welcomed Eric Wright into the world on September 7, 1963, in Compton, California. His mother oversaw a primary school, while his father worked for the post office. In the tenth grade, Wright left high school, but he eventually earned his GED. The main source of his income was the sale of drugs, and by the time he was 23 years old, Wright had supposedly made up to $250,000. But after his cousin was fatally shot, he made the decision to find work in the vibrant Los Angeles hip-hop culture.
His Career
In search of a better life, he entered the music industry, where his fame increased quickly. He founded Ruthless Records and began recording music in his parent’s garage in the middle of the 1980s. Eazy-E joined Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, MC Ren, and Arabian Prince in the group N.W.A. in 1987. Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and other Ruthless Records signees wrote “Boyz-n-the-Hood,” which led to the formation of N.W.A. On November 6, 1987, the group’s compilation album “N.W.A. and the Possee” was published; it later received a Gold certification in the US. Eazy-Duz-It, Eazy-E’s debut album, contained 12 songs and was released on September 16, 1988. The song peaked at number 41 on the Billboard charts and sold over 2.5 million copies.
He continued to have a prosperous career with N.W.A, creating and performing hit songs, including seven of the album’s top 18 tracks.
Due to an internal conflict, Ice Cube departed N.W.A in 1989, but the group carried on as a four-piece. In 1990, “100 Miles and Runnin” was published, and in 1991, after Jerry Heller took over as the group’s manager, N.W.A. started to break up. Eazy-E received an invitation from then-President George H. W. Bush to attend a luncheon in March 1991 that benefited the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle. According to a representative for the musician, Eazy-E backed Bush because of the way he handled the Persian Gulf War.
Dr. Dre later requested that Eazy-E be released from the Ruthless Records contract because it looked like Heller was prioritizing Eazy-E’s interests over those of the other band members. Due to Eazy-E’s refusal, the two musicians got into a heated argument. The conflict finally resulted in Dre’s dismissal from Ruthless Records, but Eazy responded with the EP “It’s On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa” as Dre continued to criticize him in the song “The Chronic.” During his stint with the electro-hop group World Class Wreckin’ Cru, Dre appeared in photographs sporting lacy attire and makeup. Ten months after Eazy-E’s passing, on January 30, 1996, his last album, “Str8 off Tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton,” was made available.

What happened to Eazy-E?
Eazy-E was sent to the hospital for a cough and chest trouble. He had a sneaking suspicion he had asthma. However, hospital records revealed that Eazy-E was infected with AIDS. He was thought to have contracted the virus as a result of his promiscuous relationships with several women.
On March 17, 1995, the 31-year-old rap singer gave a press conference in Hollywood to announce the news to the public. Ron Sweeney, the star’s close friend, and Eazy-E’s lawyer gave a prepared statement on the star’s behalf.
“I’m not religious, but wrong or right, that’s me. I’m not saying this because I’m looking for a soft cushion wherever I’m heading. I just feel I’ve got thousands of young fans who have to learn what’s real when it comes to AIDS. I’ve learned in the last week that this thing is real, and it doesn’t discriminate. It affects everyone.”
While the rapper was in serious condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, he married Tomica in a private ceremony attended only by his family.
Unfortunately, Eazy-E died on March 26, 1995, just one month after his initial illness. AIDS-induced pneumonia, according to the hospital, was the cause of his death.
On April 7, 1995, the “Godfather of Gangster Rap” was laid to rest in Whittier’s Rose Hills Memorial Park. He was buried wearing a plaid shirt, pants, and a Compton hat in a gold casket. Eazy-E’s Personal Life
In 1991, Wright and Tomica Woods crossed paths in a bar in Los Angeles. Just twelve days before his death on March 26th from pneumonia brought on by AIDS, they got married in 1995. Tomica took over Ruthless Records following the passing of Eazy-E.
Eazy-E was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center on February 24, 1995, with a ferocious cough and what he thought to be asthma. Instead, he was given an AIDS diagnosis. On March 16, he made a public announcement about his sickness. 11 children were born as a result of Eazy’s sexual activities, with eight different women. Eric Darnell Wright, also known as Lil Eazy-E, Erin, Dominick, and Daijah, who was born six months after his death, is his known child.
One month after his diagnosis, on March 26, 1995, Eazy passed away at the age of 30. Before he passed away, Eazy made peace with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. In Rose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, he is interred. His funeral was attended by more than 3,000 individuals, including DJ Yella and Jerry Heller.
