In 1976, they met at a comedy club. Nicholson-Leno was never a fan of getting married and starting a family. Despite this, the pair married four years after meeting in order for Mavis to benefit from Jay’s insurance. Since then, they’ve been blissfully married.

He and his wife have had a strong and happy marriage for many years, and they have never had children. People naturally want to discover what makes a long-lasting marriage work, especially in the divorce capital of the world, Hollywood. Leno, on the other hand, says he looks up to his incredible wife. “Here’s the secret: You marry your conscience,” he told the Today Show. You marry the person you could be. That is exactly what I did.” “I’m in show business, which is a selfish profession, but I married a woman who works hard for women’s rights and other issues like that, and it balances out,” he continued. “You marry the person you could be.”

It would seem that being happily married for more than 40 years should put any sexuality worries to rest. However, given the power of the internet’s rumor mill, it’s impossible to predict what rumors will survive.

A series of web ads titled “Meet Jay Leno’s Gorgeous Husband” appeared from late 2020 to early 2021. They also had images of Leno standing with various men, hinting that one of them was the husband. But, of course, this was just clickbait designed to entice readers to click on the links in the hopes of finding some juicy information. Tumblr ads featuring Leno’s alleged husband began to circulate as well.

While these reports sparked considerable speculation, a short Google check reveals that Leno and his wife are happily married. So, while you might not believe everything you read, you can trust this: Jay and Mavis Leno are happily married.
