Chevy Chase, a stand-up comedian, was born in New York City on October 8, 1943. After the rich Maryland neighborhood of Chevy Chase, his grandmother gave him the nickname Chevy Chase. Chase attended Bard College, where he received a B.A. in English after being awarded valedictorian of his high school class.
