Who is Jessica Andrade?

Jessica Andrade’s Career
On September 6, 2011, Andrade made her mixed martial arts professional debut. After defeating Duda Yankovich, Andrade traveled to Niterói to train at Paraná Vale Tudo. She had previously trained at Gracie Humaita in Umuarama for her first six professional fights. In her home country of Brazil, she prevailed in eight out of 10 fights.
At ProFC 47: Russia vs. Europe in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, on April 14, 2013, Andrade competed outside of Brazil for the first time by submitting Milana Dudieva.

On September 23, 2017, Andrade fought Cláudia Gadelha at UFC Fight Night: Saint Preux vs. Okami. By a unanimous vote of 30-25, 30-26, and 30-27, she prevailed in the bout. Andrade won her second Fight of the Night bonus for this match.
Andrade fought Zhang Weili on August 31, 2019, in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 15. It was Andrade’s first championship defense. She was knocked out technically in the opening round of the fight.
On April 18, 2020, at UFC 249, Rose Namajunas and Andrade were set to rematch. Namajunas withdrew on April 9, 2020, for unknown reasons. Instead, a new date was chosen for the fight, which eventually occurred at UFC 251 on July 12, 2020. Andrade was defeated by a narrow margin. She won the Fight of the Night prize for her battle.
On October 18, 2020, at UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie, Andrade faced Katlyn Chookagian in a flyweight match after suffering two straight defeats at strawweight. On April 24, 2021, at UFC 261, Andrade competed against Valentina Shevchenko for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship. She was completely outmatched throughout the fight and fell victim to elbows while in the crucifix position in the second round.
On September 25, 2021, Andrade and Cynthia Calvillo squared up at UFC 266. In the opening round, she was victorious by technical knockout.
