American singer Kane Allen Brown was born on October 21, 1993. Social media was the first platform that brought Brown to the public’s attention. In June 2015, he released his debut EP, titled Closer, then in October of that same year, he dropped the new single “Used to Love You Sober.” The song was a part of Brown’s EP Chapter 1, which was released in March 2016 after he signed with RCA Nashville in early 2016.

His Early Life
Brown was raised in rural areas of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and northwest Georgia. His parents, an African-American father who is also half Cherokee and a white mother named Tabatha Brown, make up his multicultural family.
He admitted to People magazine in 2018 that he didn’t discover he was mixed-race until he was 7 or 8 years old: “I thought I was full white… I found out that I was biracial, and I still wasn’t thinking anything of it, but then I started getting called the N-word … I learned what it meant, and that’s when it started affecting me. I got in fights over it when I was little.” He was reared by his single mother because his father has been behind bars since 1996.
When he was a child, his family occasionally lived on the streets and relocated from Rossville to Fort Oglethorpe to LaFayette before settling in Red Bank, Tennessee.
He went to a lot of schools as a result, including Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, where he sang in the choir alongside Lauren Alaina, the runner-up on Season 10 of American Idol. He also went to Ridgeland, Soddy Daisy, and Red Bank high schools. He moved in with his grandmother, who had also assisted in his upbringing, after graduating.
