Early Life

Katherine von Drachenberg was born in the Mexican city of Montemorelos, to a family of German immigrants. Her parents were René and Sylvia, who were both German Argentine missionaries for the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Von D has two siblings: a brother named Michael, and a sister named Karoline. She was four years old when her family moved to the Inland Empire, and she grew up in Colton, California.

LA Ink became extremely popular, and while filming was underway, Kat Von D set a new world record by tattooing 400 individuals in less than 24 hours. Von D ultimately decided not to continue the show and canceled it in 2011 after the fourth season aired.

She was also in a relationship with Nikki Sixx from February 2008 to January 2010.

The actress tweeted on August 19, 2010, that she and Jesse James, the CEO of West Coast Choppers were dating. Von D and James confirmed their engagement in January 2011 on their official website. However, In July 2011, Von D confirmed they had ended their relationship.
