Thieriot played Dylan Massett in the drama-thriller series Bates Motel on A&E from 2013 to 2017. He appears in the History Channel miniseries Texas Rising as John Coffee “Jack” Hays (2015). Thieriot debuted in the CBS drama series SEAL Team in 2017 as Navy SEAL Clay Spenser.

His Early Life

Thieriot, the son of Bridgit Ann (née Snyder) and George Cameron Thieriot, was born in Los Altos Hills, California. He has a younger brother and an elder sister. He was raised in the rural Californian community of Occidental in Sonoma County. After finishing middle school at the Sonoma Country Day School in Santa Rosa, California, Thieriot transferred to El Molino High School in Forestville, California, where he eventually earned his diploma in 2006. The San Francisco Chronicle was originally owned by Thieriot’s ancestors.

Together with his brother Charles de Young, his great-great-grandfather M. H. de Young, a Dutch Jew who eventually converted to Catholicism, co-founded the newspaper. Charles and Richard Thieriot, two of his relatives, served as the paper’s editors and publishers. Frances Harrison (née Dade) and Ferdinand Melly Thieriot, Thieriot’s paternal grandparents, perished in the SS Andrea Doria disaster in 1956.
