CBR asked, “What was it like stepping into a universe like this, with such a large scope and massive fan base?” Natasha replied ” Yeah. I kind of… When I got my audition, I just threw myself into the research. I think for me, because I’m an externalist, for me research is key to just finding out every aspect of the world-building that needs to happen. I was fascinated by the Spartans. Luckily, that was what I was going up for. I did a deep dive on the Spartans, different iterations of the Spartan program, and Spartan views, which I find honestly the most fascinating. Riz had a bit of a tough time, I know. Stolen at six, and taken away from your parents. What does that do to a person? It’s fascinating.”

CBR continued by saying ” One of the things I’m most fascinated by, especially with Riz, is that she’s a wholly new character to the franchise. Some of your co-stars like Pablo Schreiber have got years of history behind their characters, while you really got to dive into a new character like Riz. Is that almost liberating as a performer?”

Natasha replied, “Yeah. I think so, yeah. I think it’s liberating because it’s a blank slate. Riz and Kai and Vannak are part of the four that have just been brought out. They’re in their infancy I suppose, so we can develop them as we want, which is exciting and brilliant.”

She was asked by CBR, “Getting into Spartan shape must be something of a challenge. What was that like to tackle?” Natasha said “Slightly exhausting. When I got offered the role, [Otto Bathurst], who’s the producer, he rang me and said, “Are you ready for this?” He was like, “I just need to make sure. This is going to be hard. This is going to be grueling. Are you prepared?” Then he said, “Welcome on board.” I was just like “Yep, yep, yep, yep, all good, yep.” I was a… I wasn’t actually fit, I wouldn’t say before I got Halo. I’ve had to learn to love fitness. I’ve not had any choice in the matter. I’ve had to find a way to make it bearable. Now I love it, it’s a big part of my life, weirdly. Thank you to Halo, I’m now fit.”

Natasha Culzac enjoys spending time with her pals, particularly when they are traveling. She and Fiona set out on an eight-month journey through America, Australia, and Asia in 2018.

She enjoys working out as well, particularly jogging, and although you might not be aware of it, she is also a marathon runner. She established a 100-kilometer monthly distance goal.
