Rapper and DJ Paul Wall was born in the United States on March 11, 1981, as Paul Michael Slayton, best known by his stage name Paul Wall. He has released albums on Swishahouse Records, has been involved with numerous other rappers who are label clients, and has been connected to the company for a sizable amount of his career.
He began his career as a musician with Chamillionaire, a fellow Houstonian with whom he co-published numerous albums, including the independently released Get Ya Mind Correct in 2002. His major label debut, The Peoples Champ, was a success after he signed with Atlantic Records in 2005. After that, in 2006 and 2007, respectively, Get Money and Stay True were released.

Early Life
On March 11th, 1981, in Houston, Texas, Paul was born. He attended Houston’s Jersey Village High School. Wall attended the University of Houston after high school, where he studied mass communication for three years. He met the local rapper Chamillionaire after graduating from college, and the two started making mixtapes together.
After persuading Michael “5000” Watts to let them rap on his radio show, the two started to draw notice. They kept making mixtapes and contributing to the mixtapes of other rappers in the Houston area, and each new mixtape brought them more business opportunities.
Finally, Paid in Full Records and Paul and Chamillionaire reached an agreement for a single album. In 2002, the album “Get Ya Mind Correct” was released. Positive reviews were given to the record, which eventually sold over 200,000 copies.
Career
“Chick Magnet,” Wall’s self-titled debut album, was released by Paid in Full Records in 2004. The album made its debut on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at position 54. A year after joining Atlantic Records and Asylum Records, Paul released his second album, “The Peoples Champ.”

Controversy
Rasaq Seriki, the younger brother of Chamillionaire, is said to have been attacked by Wall and his group on November 19, 2004, in a nightclub. Chamillionaire expressed his dissatisfaction with Paul Wall, arguing that since they were all formerly related, these incidents shouldn’t have occurred.
They were all a part of the collective known as “The Color Changin’ Click” before the entire episode involving Paul Wall and Rasaq, which has since fractured. Rasaq and Chamillionaire collaborated on the diss single “Go Head.”
When the two reconnected for a lengthy tour in 2010, the argument was resolved. Wall remarked “It took a long time and is growing. You know, we started off as a group, and a lot of times when you go your separate ways, a lot of people say, “Oh you can’t do it without him,” and so you wanna prove them wrong.
