She worked as a radio and television reporter for the San Antonio-based Air Force News Agency from 1993 to 1997. Anderson was released from the Air Force with distinction in June 1997. In  2014, she worked with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America to raise awareness of this illness.

She worked as a radio host at KONO-FM and KCJZ in San Antonio, WJWZ in Montgomery, Alabama, KUMX and WYLD-FM in Fort Polk, Louisiana, and WDTJ in Detroit, Michigan between 1995 and 2001.

However, she started off at WQHT in New York City, where she stayed until 2003 as the radio host of the station. Anderson briefly had ownership of Sunny’s Delicious Dishes, a New Jersey-based catering business. She received a job offer from the Food Network to host its ‘How’d That Get On My Plate?’ segment in July 2008.

The American woman co-hosted “Gotta Get It” and co-hosted “Cooking for Real” while employed for the channel. She served as the food and lifestyle editor for the “Hip Hop Weekly” magazine in 2006 and 2007.  The cast of “The Kitchen” and Anderson were both nominated for the Outstanding Talk Show/Informative award at the 44th Daytime Emmy Awards, but they were unsuccessful.

The Wendy Williams Show, The Rachael Ray Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, The View, The Talk, and others have all featured Anderson as a guest chef.
