The preacher Michael Braxton and his wife Evelyn welcomed Toni Michelle Braxton into the world on October 7, 1967, in Severn, Maryland. Braxton and her four younger sisters, Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar, started singing in their father’s church when they were very young.
