In Joliet, Illinois, Mike Wolfe was born on June 11th, 1964. A single mother named Rita reared Mike and his two siblings, Beth and Robbie. He began picking when he was a very young child by removing old bikes from a neighbor’s trash after the family moved to Bettendorf, Iowa.
In search of stuff to sell, Wolfe later started scouring alleyways and abandoned homes. Mike attended Sudlow Intermediate School, where he met the future co-host of “American Pickers,” Frank Fritz. He then attended Bettendorf High School, where he received his diploma in 1982.
